First responders in Anchorage were called to assist at the scene of a fatal head-on traffic accident that took place on a highway in Anchorage on the evening of Saturday, December 19. The reason the crash took place remains unknown at the current time.

According to the accident report, a Subaru Outback was traveling north on the Seward Highway while a Toyota 4Runner was traveling south. For reasons still under investigation, the two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision near mile marker 105. The adult female driver of the Outback lost her life in the crash.

The deceased victim has not been identified at this time as an accident investigation is currently active. A male passenger in the Outback was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries he sustained in the crash. Those injuries were deemed non-life-threatening in nature.
