Anchorage, AK – Police Officer Injured in Crash on Boniface Pkwy

A local law enforcement officer had to be extricated from her squad car in East Anchorage on Monday, November 23rd after an SUV crashed into it and rammed it into a traffic pole.
According to initial reports, at about 3:10 a.m., a 2007 Toyota 4Runner driven by 19-year-old Cody Peterson was heading southbound on Boniface Parkway when he blew through a red light at the DeBarr Road intersection and collided with an eastbound patrol car that had the green light.
A couple of on-duty paramedics from the Anchorage Fire Department saw the accident and immediately evaluated both drivers.
The officer, however, had to be extricated from her heavily-damaged vehicle by the firefighters. She was transported to a local hospital for emergency treatment of a head injury.
Peterson did not appear to be injured.
