Police and paramedics in Anchorage were dispatched to the scene of a fatal pedestrian vs vehicle crash that took place on Minnesota Drive. The accident occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m.

Preliminary reports indicate that the accident took place in the northbound lanes of Minnesota Drive between Spenard Road and 35th Avenue. Despite life-saving efforts made by EMS, a pedestrian passed away after being hit by a car in the road.

The identity of the deceased victim has not been released pending notification of next-of-kin. All northbound lanes of Minnesota Drive were closed while emergency responders were present at the crash scene.
