Anchorage, AK – Fatal Hit and Run on Glenn Hwy near Hiland Exit

A fatal hit-and-run crash took one life on the morning of January 2 on a highway in Anchorage. Police stated that the crash happened at approximately 8:40 a.m. on the Glenn Highway near the Hiland exit for reasons still being investigated.

The preliminary investigation found that an adult male was driving on the Glenn Highway when he hit a pedestrian with his car. The male suspect then left the scene of the crash without stopping to render aid or wait for the police.

The pedestrian has only currently been identified as an adult male. He lost his life at the scene of the collision, despite life-saving efforts issued by paramedics. The man who hit him was identified as 25-year-old Brian McGee.

McGee was charged with failure to stop and render aid. The crash investigation is currently underway and more charges may be pending. No further information has been disclosed to the public at this time.
