Anchorage, AK – Victim Identified in Seward Hwy Fatal Crash

As previously reported, a fatal car accident occurred on the Seward Highway in Anchorage at mile marker 105 on December 19. The contributing factors of the crash have not been determined by local law enforcement officials at this time.

According to the preliminary investigation, a Subaru Outback was headed north at the same time that a Toyota 4Runner was traveling south on the highway. For currently undisclosed reasons, the two vehicles collided head-on, taking the life of the female driver of the Outback.

The deceased victim has been identified as 39-year-old Melanie S. Hinkle. The driver of the 4Runner was injured in the crash and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The cause of the collision is currently under investigation by local law enforcement officials at this time. No further information has been provided to the public.
