Anchorage, AK – Melanie Hinkle Killed in Fatal Crash on Seward Hwy
One woman lost her life this past Saturday morning after her involvement in a collision that took place on the Seward Highway in Anchorage. She was identified as 39-year-old Melanie Hinkle.
Hinkle was killed when her vehicle and another vehicle collided on the Seward Highway in the vicinity of mile marker 105 on the morning of Saturday, December 19. The accident occurred near the Rainbow Trailhead on Turnagain Arm at approximately 11:00 a.m. The reason for the collision has not been determined at this point in time.
According to police, a driver heading south crossed over the centerline and struck Hinkle’s vehicle head-on. A passenger present in Hinkle’s car at the time of the crash was transported to a nearby hospital with injuries of a non-life-threatening nature.
